Review of "Half Heaven"
The film is set in Victoria, near Limbe. Kizito is a preacher who spreads the word of God to people who don't believe in Christ. He grew up in an orphanage and never knew his parents. Kizito is very devoted to his faith and avoids things he considers sinful, like pre-marital sex, smoking, and drinking. The community loves him and praises him for his good work. However, the head pastor is worried that Kizito might take his position.
Kizito wants to be ordained this year, but to do so, he must complete a mission by converting at least one person in an outside village in Cameroon. The jealous pastor sends him to Mboko, a dangerous and godless ghetto full of crime and poverty. When Kizito arrives, he is robbed and loses everything. With nowhere to go, he ends up in a brothel where he meets Bisona, a well-known prostitute. She offers him a place to stay to keep him safe. Kizito hesitates but knows it's his only option. With Bisona’s unexpected help, he begins his mission to enlighten others.

This film challenges these quick judgments and encourages us to be open-minded. It explores how humanity connects us all, beyond borders, beliefs, and cultures. It’s about empathy, growth, and personal evolution.
